About Atelier Atelier's designer, Vanessa Frisbee is the connsumate jewellery enthusiast. Once described by Red Magazine, as "A woman obsessed by jewellery", Vanessa was trained at Central St. Martins and is a qualified jewellery design historian. |
Working as a celebrity stylist and jewellery historian, she has spent over 25 years globe trotting and collecting. From Notting Hill to the Atlas mountains of Morocco and beyond, her travels have given her a multitude of tiny beautiful objects, ancient beads, stones and vintage jewellery - seven years ago, she began creating the kind of modern collectible jewellery she'd like to wear - and Atelier was born.
Vanessa set up Atelier in the picturesque market town of Newark on Trent in Nottinghamshire in early 2004. Inspired by everything from modern art, to ancient culture, Vanessa creates bespoke pieces which have already attracted a dedicated circle of clients who love the way that her bespoke jewellery design is so original, unique and infiniitely wearable.
About Atelier Design - In 2009 Vanessa's husband Stuart Anthony, a jewellery CAD designer, set up Atelier Design. Being the first CAD designer to use Gemvision's industry leading jewellery designing software Matrix 3D in the UK, Stuart has the most experience with this software in the UK and probably Europe. Whereas Vanessa perfers the traditional skills that come with bench design, often choosing to work directly with metal or wax, Stuart's methodical, scientific approach leads him to choose computer aided design and rapid prototyping as his metier. His designs represent the best of age old skills brought up to date by technology. He is thought of as the UK's leading jewellery CAD designer constantly pushing boundaries and breaking new ground in the commercial design sector.
